Deliberation on the Uniform Civil Code
The 1st National Lawyers' Parliament Festival was held on 29th April 2023 at the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi. Approximately 350 practising lawyers and law students from across the country gathered to deliberate on one of India's most debated legal topics โ the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
The conference served as a platform for legal professionals to engage in structured parliamentary-style debates, drawing from their expertise in constitutional law, family law, and comparative jurisprudence. The suggestions and recommendations compiled were officially submitted to the Law Commission of India.
